Entering the Thinking Zone

Not every comment has to be filled to the brim with witty repartee. I'd like to think, however, that some of us on the planet, especially here in the United States, are intellectually curious beings. One of the things that gets under my skin is just how flat the average American's thinking is. I get pretty damned tired of what passes as media news, that crap that dribbles out of my TV. The lack of coverage of important, world changing issues and the endless coverage of flash in the pan stories such as The Runaway Bride or Brittany Spears lack of underpants. This forum is for thinking people. A place to post a poem or address something that needs to be addressed. A place to vent about the world, from the big picture, to the microcosm of your own desk. A place to share a photo or a recipe. A place to tell a story about a trip to Asia or to the grocery store. So get comfortable, get a hot or cold beverage and feel like one of the family... not the one guy in the family who no one wants to invite over for dinner either, but the part of the family that doesn't mind picking up the tab and who has something smart and funny (or maybe not funny at all) to say.
