Son Ian and the legend of the Laptop

When I got my new Macbook Pro, my 7 year old son, Ian had been following the FedEx delivery schedule, on-line, for 2 days. He saw it was "On the truck for delivery" and he sat by the door, waiting for the FedEx guy all morning. Finally, after several hours, he gave up all hope and went into my office to use my computer... It was then that the delivery guy rang the doorbell (a watched pot...)-- Ian shot off like a greyhound, through the family room, dining room and living room to the door. Ian stood behind John, my husband, as he signed for the package. Finally, the big moment was here... The new laptop that I had wanted... all wrapped up and new... Not a scratch was making its grand entrance. Ian was more excited than anyone. He waited as I slid it out of it's packaging and opened it and pushed the power button. Like magic, it powered on. I checked every pixel on its 15" screen. It was perfect. Ian knew way more about this new laptop than I did. He was full of information. He knew what software was loaded and what it was for. He knew how to operate the iPodish remote control and he understood Photobooth and walked me through Front Row... I wondered, "How does he know this crap?" He sat down and started taking pictures of himself with the iSight camera. He was making podcasts and posing for the camera. He sang to the laptop and recorded himself talking about everything Macintosh. He recorded himself dancing and he made an idvd.

We were able to get Airport to pick up our network signal from upstairs and "POOF!" like magic... it worked.

We are now mobile....

I will probably just let him say something on this blog since it would be easier to manage. He thinks he is famous already.
