Just a Thought Before You Go

Ciao, bye, adios, good-bye, see ya wouldn't wanna be ya, hasta-la-bye-bye, keep moving nothin' to see here, adieu, farewell, au revoir, bon voyage, buh-bye, cheerio, shove-off, later, keep it real, hasta la vista, toodle-oo, so long, sayonara and peace out.

That's right, I am formally saying it. Good day sir. You have embarrassed The USA with your childish behavior. You are a liar and a murderer. You were AWOL during Vietnam and a failure when you went into business for yourself. Had you not been born with that silver spoon, you would have been just another comma in the book of life. Instead, with the help of your friends and brother Jeb, you stole two elections and have written a whole chapter in that book, one of destruction and pain. You used the events of 9-11 to further your PNAC agenda. You used the bodies of 2,974 9/11 victims to parade your ego and lie us into a phony war against a country who had nothing to do with the events of that terrible day. You and your cabinet and supporters are solely responsible for the deaths of over 4,000 American service people and at least a million Iraqis. You and your cabinet and supporters are solely responsible for the Americans returning home brain damaged, maimed and emotionally ruined. You and your cabinet and supporters are solely responsible for the millions of Iraqis who are left without drinkable water, electricity, an education, homes, hospitals and who are living a disastrous existence. You and your cabinet and supporters are solely responsible for the way the rest of the world sees all of us. You sir have made all of us look like war-mongering, thoughtless, drooling, knuckle-dragging Neanderthals. Your phony war on terror is just more hormone-induced posturing by a self centered egomaniac.

If your record concerning the occupation of Iraq had not been enough, you and your cabinet and supporters are solely responsible for the economic crisis all of us working Americans face day in and day out. It costs me about $60 to fill up my small, 6 cylinder SUV. Our living expenses have sky rocketed and there is no end in sight. My young children and their children and their children will be paying for your phony war on terror. Americans for generations will bear the weight of your 8 long years in office. You and your rich friends will all be getting fatter and richer while the people who make up this country and keep it moving with their sweat and hard work will starve and go broke. You and your cabinet and supporters are solely responsible for the wreckage you have left in your disastrous wake. Your cavalier, let them eat cake, attitude was more than obvious in the days and weeks following Hurricane Katrina.

And so, good-bye Mr. President. Don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out. I have cried so many tears that I could have filled an ocean. I have never felt such an emptiness as when I look back over what has become of this country. You have taken away so much and left so little. You are a bully and a spineless monster. You and your cabinet and supporters are solely responsible for the destruction of the Constitution. There are no words for how I feel about you and your ilk. You are no better than a serial killer who has run amok. And finally, may that God of yours, the one you say speaks to you, remind you that you have left a terrible, deep, suppurating, ugly and open sore on the soul of America.

It really saddens me that I may not live long enough to see his damage repaired. I cry for the country my grandchildren (who aren't even born yet) are inheriting.

I, for one, am not willing to let Bush sneak out the back door. I want to give him a good bashing before he crawls back into his hole with the ghost of Saddam Hussein.

With that in mind, I have written an 80,000-word work of fiction about the Bush years. Like Orwell's Animal Farm, which, of course, took on communism, my "The Boathouse" excoriates Bush, his henchmen and their handling of the Iraq War.

I will serialize it online beginning September 7, running through the inauguration of the next president in January. The first two chapters are online now. It can be found at http://www.slwgreene.blogspot.com. I have also created a wiki at http://www.goodbyebush.wetpaint.com so that everyone can contribute to flailing the pres as he leaves.

Each week I will release four more chapters and invite readers to add their thoughts at the blog site or the wiki. I hope to come up with an assortment of "tributes" that will be sent to the ex-commander-in-chief when he leaves office. Admittedly, it might be difficult to render all the material into a form Bush can read since he has scant experience with online resources.

I will post short excerpts and links to your endeavor from my small network of blogs. Many thanks to Anne for telling me about this place.

One comment to Anne, "Don't mourn, organize!" My 11 year old boy is smart enough to stand up against the Bush regime, even to his teachers. He's already organizing his classmates into what he calls, "the American French Resistance." The Neocons in both War Parties and the corporations have stolen our childrens' future. Smalltown America First! Dump the "military industrial complex" and go local!

Email me with each chapter as it appears, I will link to it.

Thanks, Anne
